Explaining the Low Oxalate Diet

Have you heard of the low oxalate diet? Oxalate is an organic acid found in many plant foods and can be problematic for those prone to kidney stones. Beyond the formation of kidney stones, however, oxalates can be absorbed in those with a leaky gut, damaging tissue and causing pain and inflammation. Adhering to a diet low in oxalates is one way to combat these potential issues.
